Maria Candida Gentile,Floral

Lady Day

Maria Candida Gentile created a fragrant homage to the famous blues singer Billie Holiday nicknamed Lady Day by her friend and musical partner Lester Young. Legend has it that one day before a performance she burned her hair with a curling iron and from that day on she never went on stage without a flower in her hair. We may not recognize her face but we all know her memorable voice and when we think of her our image is of the gardenia she wore close to her face- a symbol of sensuality, glamor and vulnerability. Maria Candida Gentile uses a costly and rare natural gardenia absolue seldom found in modern perfumery; as fragile and rare as the Lady herself.

Notes: Galbanum, gardenia, Peruvian balm
